A significant upgrade over the original — brighter, dual colour, built to last.
Powerful LED boards replace the original single-colour units in your Volvo V5 top lamps. Noticeably brighter than stock with the added flexibility of dual colour output.
Kit Includes:
- 2x Dual colour LED boards
- Included plug with pins
- Bolt and nut for securing board to optical fiber
Note: Dual colour requires a separate Dual Colour polarity inverter (colour changer).
Installation :
Locate the square block at the back of the lamp where the plug sits. Cut the top of the block off approximately 3mm from the edge all the way around — a standard metal saw works well here.
Pull the top out slightly to expose the original circuit board, fastened with 3 metal screws. Cut through the screws with the metal saw. The original board will be damaged in this process — this is expected. Remove the top completely and detach the original board.
Secure the new board to the optical fiber using the included bolt and nut. Use a wrench and tape to hold the nut in place while tightening.
Drill the small plug pin holes open to 6mm. Feed the wires from the new board through. Insert into the included plug — for dual colour, connect both lamps consistently in the same way.
Test the lamp before closing.
Apply flexible glue to reassemble the block and seal around the wires at the plug. Flexible glue is recommended so the lamp can be disassembled again if needed.
